Those who cannot get enough of Zara, can look forward to the largest store in the world opening this Friday, April 7.
The new store, located in Madrid’s Paseo de la Castellana, will be 65,000 square feet. While this is the 435th location in Spain, it is the sixteenth one in Madrid.
Not only will the Spanish retailer be the largest store, it will have advanced technology for mobile payments and better fitting rooms. Zara began testing the self-service checkout earlier last year, which should make purchases more efficient.
The all-glass building will also house Zara’s office space at Madrid’s financial center.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, this isn’t the only location that Zara will be opening, as the company is gearing up for flagships opening later this year in India, Japan and Qatar.
Even though Zara isn’t exactly a tourist destination, we can expect shoppers to have plenty of layovers to visit the new store openings.
The semi-budget friendly store is surprisingly thriving at a time when many mall stores, like Wet Seal and Bebe, are folding.
