Zara is in deep water once again, not for ‘deceptive pricing’ or plagiarism, but for a mouse, or at least part of a mouse.
According to TMZ, Cailey Fiesel, 24, bought a dress on July 5 from Zara’s Greenwich, Connecticut location.
Cailey returned home to New York. In August, she wore the dress to work only to realize the “disturbingly pungent odor.”
That same day, Cailey felt a loose string on her leg. When the woman tried to pull it off, she felt something protruding from it.
The string turned out to be a dead mouse’s leg, which gave her a rash. Doctors are calling those signs of “a rodent born disease.”
“I was in complete shock,” said Cailey. “My eyes saw that it was a mouse but my brain told myself it can’t be.”
Cailey will be suing for negligence/personal injuries, according to court documents. The woman is seeking money damages.
Cailey’s lawyer, Adam Deutsch, told The New York Post that the dress is currently in a vacuum-sealed pouch for evidence purposes.
Meanwhile, TMZ reached out to a Zara spokesperson, who stated, “Zara USA is aware of the suit, and we are investigating the matter further. Zara USA has stringent health and safety standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all of our products meet these rigorous requirements.”
