Not everyone is Selena Gomez and can pull a fast one in wearing a Victoria’s Secret lingerie slip outdoors.
Believe it or not the lingerie brand has been receiving criticism for advertisements of models wearing lingerie outside the bedroom.
Technically, models, like Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill, posing in undergarments outdoors, isn’t something new for Victoria’s Secret.
However, it’s the styling that peeves social media followers. For instance, Stella wears the high-neck lace garter slip under a denim jacket as she seductively lays on the carpet.
VS Angel Jasmine Tookes exposes her bra underneath a button-down shirt and jeans, as she walks down the street.
Another model wears her bralette at, what appears to be, her terrace or balcony.
A model reveals her lace bodysuit underneath her trench coat outside.
The list goes on with the brand’s campaign.
One Facebook commenter called out the company for what kind of message it sends to young girls. “Literally speaking from a mother’s point of view it’s very distasteful that leaves nothing to the imagination!” she declared.
Another commenter wrote, “You’re off your rocker Victoria’s Secret. Bring back real clothes if you want your product to be seen in public. Otherwise, lingerie is meant for under your clothes or in the bedroom.”
On the other hand, maybe wearing lingerie outside shouldn’t be such a taboo concept.
“Everyone complaining that lingerie can’t be worn in this fashion is really outdated and uptight,” someone commented on Facebook. “If you don’t want to show your nipple then throw on a matching casual bralette underneath the slip, but for goodness sake quit shaming women and being so judgmental!”
Some may be quick to point out that Victoria’s Secret is just staying on trend with the runway.
Even during New York Fashion Week we have seen plenty of NSFW trends worn in a more revealing way.
