The local partner of Calvin Klein Inc., Arvind Brands and Retail Ltd. hired Parag Dani to head the company as of earlier this month. This comes after some restructuring when the US company pulled out of a distribution arrangement with Murjani Group this past March.

Calvin Klein has had a presence in India since 2007 with a distribution partnership. “Calvin Klein was one of the first few foreign brands that entered India when the market was just opening up to the idea of foreign labels,” said Ankur Bisen, senior vice-president, retail and consumer at consultancy Technopak Advisors.

Dani, who was the retail director at Levi’s , comes into the company even as they are attempting to grow their portfolio and boost sales in smaller towns.

Calvin Klein is set to add another 15 stores to their already 50 standalone stores this year in markets such as Vijayawada, Lucknow and Colimbatore.
