Nordstrom joins funding sources for Shoes of Prey

The United States retail giant, Nordstrom has joined funding sources for the online Australian retailer, Shoes of Prey. The funding will be used to spur an expansion in the United States.

According to the Australian Financial Review, Shoes of Prey closed their latest round of funding with the largest sum yet at $15.5 million USD. Shoes of Prey is primarily an online retailer that provides customization of shoes. Shoppers design their shoes via a website, and then they are manufactured in China.

Scott Meden, the Nordstrom executive overseeing the company’s shoe business told the International Business Times regarding Nordstrom’s financial commitment, “With personalization becoming more important to how the customer views good service, it’s important for us to find opportunities to stay increasingly relevant.”

Shoes of Prey relocated its headquarters to Santa Monica this summer after establishing a key relationship with Nordstrom. They have since opened up interactive locations throughout the U.S.
