Nike and Michael J Fox Foundation team up for ‘Back to the Future II’ style shoes

Nike Mags lace up for charity

Nike has partnered up with the Michael J Fox foundation to help fund research into Parkinson’s Disease with the famous Nike Mags seen in the movie Back to the Future II.

The shoes are an exact replica of the ones seen in the movie, including LED lights, adaptive lacing, according to Fortune Magazine.

The Mags, released today, will not be sold like the 2011 version, but raffled to donors of the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Fox, who played Marty McFly in the Back to the Future movies, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in his late 20s.  

Fans can buy as many raffle tickets as they please for just $10 each via or Nike SNKRS app for a chance to win one of 89 pairs of the Mags.

Drawings will begin on Oct, 4 and ends Oct. 11. Winners will be notified Oct. 17.

According to a Nike press release, one pair of the Nike Mag will also be auctioned live in three places: Hong Kong on October 11, 2016; London on October 14 and 17; and in New York on November 12 at The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s benefit gala, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s.”
