Covergirl continues to promote diversity and has appointed Muslim beauty blogger Nura Afia as its newest brand ambassador.
Just a few weeks after announcing the first-ever male Covergirl James Charles, who is also a fellow beauty blogger, the brand has appointed Afia to campaign for their newest product So Lashey! BlastPro mascara. She celebrated her ambassadorship on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at a Covergirl event in New York City where she posed with fans and off showed the new mascara.
The YouTuber is well-known for her killer makeup tutorials such as shimmery smokey eyes, everyday natural looks and even tutorials on how to wrap a hijab in various styles.
Afia joins a family of diverse and beautiful Covergirl’s as the brand strides to represent equality and celebrate beauty despite race and gender norms. With famous faces such as Sofia Vergara and Katy Perry, Afia is now among the leagues of powerful influencers who are contributing to the rebirth declared as beautiful and conquering with “#LashEquality.”
