Josephine Skriver named Victoria’s Secret Angel

Following three Victoria’s Secret shows in a row, Josephine Skriver has been inducted as an Angel.

According to Vogue, the 22-year-old model will appear in the swim special in CBS.

As the cover of its 2016 Swim Catalogue, the Danish model told Vogue.com, “I was jumping up and down. It’s a dream come true. I’ve been working so hard, the fact that it’s finally happening seems so unreal. I’m going to pinch myself all day!”

In 2013, Skriver started working for the brand’s Pink line, which paved way for the model to be an Angel.

Nevertheless, Skriver has used her voice as a LGBTQ activist. Representing the Family Equality Council, the model uses her experience with her own parents, whom both are gay, to encourage children of LGBTQ parents to share their stories the same way.

“I have always been super proud of my parents,” said Skriver. “They raised me with unconditional love and helped me become the person I am today. Now it’s important for me to use my voice to help the world understand and become more open minded about LGBTQ families.”

Chief Marketing Officer of Victoria’s Secret, Ed Razek, said, “Josephine Skriver is a stunning young woman and a delightful person. She is so special and we are enormously happy to welcome her to the most exclusive club in the history of modeling, The Victoria’s Secret Angels.”

Skriver will join fellow Angels Behati Prinsloo, 26; Candice Swanepoel, 27; Lily Aldridge, 30; Adriana Lima, 34; and Alessandra Ambrosio, 34 in future campaigns and shows.
