InStyle magazine will reach more audiences, as it partners with Chinese periodical, Modern Lady, to reach China.

The Time Inc. magazine will be a part of the second-largest economy in the world in a weekly format. This rebranding will start May 13.

InStyle‘s editor in chief Laura Brown expressed her thoughts on the expansion:

“I could not be more excited about the launch of InStyle China. To see InStyle expand into such a massive, modern market is a thrill. Not to mention it will be weekly, instead of monthly! I can’t wait to collaborate with the InStyle China team.”

Owned by Modern Media Group, Modern Lady started in 2008 with a circulation reaching over a million in readership.

“We are thrilled that Modern Media Group will provide our upscale, sophisticated and fun style content to women in the largest market in the world,” said Steve Marcopoto.

The President of Time Inc. International elaborated, “InStyle inspires women across the globe with its coverage of celebrity, fashion, beauty and popular culture in an entertaining and relatable voice. We welcome the women of China to our global family.”

Modern Lady’s editor in chief, Jerri Ng, will serve as the editor in chief for this venture, while Amy Young has been named the publisher of InStyle Modern Lady.

This is not the first time Time Inc. has publications in China. Fortune, Golf MagazineSports Illustrated, and Travel + Leisure all have Chinese publications.

It will be interesting to see who will appear on InStyle Modern Lady‘s first issue.
