From Bella Hadid to Ciara, IMG Models has signed a diverse group of talent, yet the addition of the World’s Tallest Ballet Dancer, Fabrice Calmels, could trump all of them.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, Joffrey Ballet’s principal dancer is 6 feet, 6 inches tall. Furthermore, Calmels holds the title for the Guinness Book of World Record for this feat.
The budding French model has already posed with the likes of Karlie Kloss for Versace. In addition to his guest appearance as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance, Calmels looks forward to the opportunities ahead with the modeling agency.
“I am thrilled to have joined IMG models. I have been a lead dancer with the Joffrey Ballet for many years while also developing multiple creative projects on the side,” Calmels told WWD. “IMG has demonstrated a great understanding of who I am and what I would like to achieve in the next phase of my career. I believe with them I will be able to achieve a seamless link between who I am and what I have previously accomplished with new and exciting opportunities.”
Even Kevin Apana has praised the new member of IMG. The head of IMG Models’ Men’s Board characterized Calmels’s discipline early on in reminding the agency that “there is nothing that can’t be accomplished with hard work and determination.”
Calmel could now be seen in Joffrey Ballet’s rendition of “Romeo and Juliet” in Chicago.
