Google hires Kate Lanphear to consult on fashion week searches

Will you be Googling "Kate Lanphear" during NYFW?

Kate Lanphear has been hired to help Google prepare for searches on New York Fashion Week highlights.

As New York Fashion Week approaches, Google will be pushing out more content relevant to it in relation to its users’ searches.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Maxim‘s former editor in chief will be Google’s consultant for fashion week as users gear up to search “Fashion Week” or “[insert designer] and Fashion Week” on the search engine.

From backstage moments to street style snapshots, the Google search engine will even allow for trends fresh off the runway to be added to your shopping bag.

This search product has been used for events, such as the Olympics and Coachella, but the push to utilize this tool for fashion week has really cemented the ready-to-wear buy now concept the fashion industry has been moving towards.

Currently, Lanphear contributes to The Editorialist as an editor. With her short platinum blonde hair and her edgy style, she has been known to be a front row staple at fashion shows. Lanphear has remained mum since her exit from Maxim last year.
