On Feb. 17, a young Chinese fashion model died during a routine breast enlargement surgery.
Ting Ting, from Hong Kong, was only 25 years old. She had a husband and was the mother of a 3-year-old little girl.
The model traveled to Shenzhen, Southern China, to a low-cost plastic surgery clinic. During a consultation before the surgery, doctors diagnosed her with “small breast syndrome” and told she had small eyes, according to the Daily Mail UK.

Ting Ting was scheduled to undergo a breast enhancement operation, along with a double eyelid operation. The goal of the eyelid surgery was to give her Western-style eyes. A surgery brief provided by the hospital said Ting Ting paid 45,600 yuan ($6,959) for both surgeries, according to the Daily Mail UK.
It is believed there was a problem with the anesthetic, causing her pulse and blood pressure to drop, as reported in Sohu.
It was hours before the family was notified of Ting Ting’s death. Metro UK reported the leading doctor in the operation left before the family could speak with him.
